Bio

Both Roger Deakins, ASC, BSC, and the late Vilmos Zsigmund, ASC  have inspired Brant’s techniques and approach to cinematography. Brant is passionate about creating beautifully cinematic, images that evoke emotion, tell a story, and compels an audience. He loves what he does, and it shows.

In commercial work, Brant’s visual style helped create the award winning brand identity for a major American health system, receiving regional Emmy awards for multiple years' campaigns. His commercial client list includes Purina, AT&T, Cox Communication, McDonald's, Alamo, Caterpillar, Stihl, Enterprise, FirstBank, and the U.S. Army.

His narrative work has won cinematography awards across the US and in Europe. He wrote, directed, shot, and edited The Battle of Island Mound, winning Emmys for best cinematography and best documentary. The film depicts the first-ever battle fought by African-American soldiers in the Civil War. The Battle of Island Mound went on to win 7 awards, including two regional Emmys.

While continuing to DP narrative and commercial projects, Brant has also been serving as a camera operator on Fox’s highest rated broadcast program, 9-1-1, during seasons five and six. The program, referred to as a police procedural, stars Anglela Bassett and Peter Kraus, and is well known for its action-packed, stunt-heavy sequences.

From the very beginning, meticulous attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling is the foundation of how Brant goes about his craft.
